They have a small hum while powered up, sitting idle, and volume above 50%, but the hum is drowned out once music starts. I would have given 5 stars on the item description, but the inner packaging around one of the speakers was full of what looked like buck shot, spilled all over when unpackaging the speaker. That being said, the seller, idjnow, shipped quickly and provided outstanding customer service when contacting them. I give them 5 stars.
