    Very high quality MODIFIED (but brand new) 4K UHD BluRay player with basic streaming features. Plays downloaded files through USB very well plus all regions/zones of international disks. I love the slow-motion capabilities while watching old (real) action movies (from USB or disk) to see how the stunts/effects were done. The only CAVEAT is that you have to perform a weird set of commands to change BluRay zones. So don't lose the instruction sheet included.

    Shipped very fast, even to my home in Alaska. Purchased this unit to replace my Sony x700 which has an ugly habit of freezing up on nearly every 4K disc I own. Unfortunately this x800 model appears to be doing the same thing, albeit I've so far only played one 4K movie (3-layer) in its entirety, and it froze around the same point in the film it did in the x700. This does not bode well for the x800. If this is a 'rare' occurrence, I sure am unlucky. Does play discs from all regions as desired.

    Great DVD blue ray player!.

    It’s only been 3 weeks since I’ve got this player. At first, I had a little trouble figuring out how to setup the regional feature correctly. But I know that Sony makes good products. Which is why I highly recommend this player to anyone who is is not looking to spend a fortune on a good player. Frankly, I think it’s the most versatile player I’ve ever owned. I have an LG Blu Ray player. But doesn’t compare to this one. This is definitely better than my LG....

    Sony x800m2 is a good choice for the money

    It's the second time I've bought a Sony x800m2. It's very good for the price and plays any media currently on the market. The downside is some video noise in DVD playback. You will see some white pixels glowing around the outlines of people and objects in outdoor footage. Ok, I compared the Sony ubp-800m2 with the Oppo 203 and 83, which cost twice as much and have much more efficient processors for DVD and Blu-Ray media.

    Well, All right, easy to use, (a lot more than) good image quality, and well designed too, but Oops! Can-t read "The Misfits" Blu-ray Cat. #125572, zone A No message, no warning, no zone protest, no disc label, nothing! The player is doin' something, silently, there in darkness. No sound too... NOTHING What we' gonna do?
