    Small package, great speed & performance

    This little box exceeded my expectations. Hooked up to my monitor, turned it on, logged into my gmail account and I was running. Boots up almost immediately. Disconnected my old Windows machine and put it aside because I can do everything I need with this Acer chromebox. Note that you cannot run native Windows programs on this (e.g. Microsoft Office) however you can access the online versions of office. Performance is great. I would have preferred a faster processor and more memory but have found that they aren't needed. Performance is quick even with many tabs open. Saved almost 50% by buying a recertified version -- excellent value for your money. Note: the cooling fan is noticeable but not objectionable. I solved this moving the chromebox from my desktop to the carpeted floor ...

    Brilliant little PC at a great price!

    It's a Chromebox. It does everything a Chromebox/Chromebook is supposed to, does it quickly, takes up no space under the TV, works with a wireless keyboard, and basically just works. The refurb I received looked almost like new, although it came in a plain brown box. But, it included the tiny-tower, the power supply, the base (which screws on), a serviceable keyboard, and a pretty good mouse. If you didn't want to upgrade anything, you'd still be fine with this unit. Plugged into my 40" Sony TV via HDMI, the picture is beautiful. I use a Logitech 400plus wireless keyboard with built-in trackpad and surf while sitting right on the couch. Perfect.

    Waiting For Android Apps

    I purchased this unit because it is on the Google waiting list for Android Apps coming soon. Otherwise, the unit is a competent Chromebox with 4GB RAM and it boots up and shuts down in a few seconds. Add a SSD drive for downloads and media storage and the onboard 16 GB flash drive is more than adequate I chose a Chromebox because my wife needs a large screen and you can't get that with a Chromebook, which we already own. The cross-platform approach of Chrome/Android by Google will probably morph into some other OS in a few years or months, but this unit is fine for the foreseeable future.
