The connection of the witch is as shown, but the info fails to say is that in order for the transfer switch to operate, you must has a completed circuit with a load connect to the out put as well as power on the normal or the alternate feeds. When power is present and a load is connected, current (amps) will flow and the transfer switch will switch (in auto) to the side with power. Auto to normal power .
