The shelves I received were "new" but must have been in some neglected corner of a warehouse for some time. Still, despite the battered box they came in, the contents were intact, and no pieces were missing. It is impossible to check the contents of a sealed package before shipment. As for the battered box, they were shipped in their original packaging so that was Fedex's fault.
