    Best fire piston I have ever used. And… the only (non homemade) one I’ve been successful in getting an ember with. Took me three wacks. I wish it was a little longer as I will be lathing a wooden outside for it, but the tolerances are perfect and I look forward to teaching with it in the kit. It is nice an light. The outside was slightly less finished than I expected on the milled side… looks like it just came out of the cnc… but tools not jewels and this is an exceptional one.

    Very Nice Piece of Kit

    This Fire Piston is handmade. The tolerances are perfect for a tight seal which leads to a hot ignition. The exterior has a finish that provides good grip. The small size makes it easy to tuck away, not taking up valuable space in your Survival Kit or BOB. However being small makes it a bit harder to use for those of us with larger hands but the manufacturer make a larger one wrapped with wood to solve that problem. All in all a very nice piece of Kit.

    Really pleased. Got the "basic" aluminum one b/c wanted something more compact. It's about 3 5/8 inches long with the piston reversed in the cylinder (piston stores nicely in the cylinder when reversed (O ring outside) & about 1/2" diameter, so it's very "packable." Came with a total of 5 O rings (1 installed, 4 xtra), instructions + small bag of char cloth. A tiny tin of lube might be a nice xtra, but $1 store lip lube is in my kit anyway (many uses), so not a "biggy." EXTREMELY well made; machined aluminum. Can't say I got an ember on the 1st try, but darn close! Definitely technique is KEY, as instructions say, but after just a couple tries I got the hang of it, worked time after time! To my fairly unskilled hands, WAY easier than flint/steel to get an ember. I highly recommend this ...

    Great fire piston at an amazing price. Compact, lightweight, easy to store, and easy to use.

    This unit is very compact. You can store the piston shaft in the cylinder for transport by putting the shaft in upside down. The unit works very well and is easy to use. The price is pretty much unbeatable. The owner is a great guy who stands behind his products. The fire piston comes with spare o-rings and some char cloth to get you started. It's super lightweight and has high compression.

    Awesome piston fire starters.

    I have one personally that I use in my gear and on trips. I've bought several that I have made nice starters for. All that I've received have fired the first time and every time after. Like all fire pistons it takes a good bit of force and quick removal from the tube but it's an awesome way to keep fire anywhere in a sinch. I love these and will keep on buying as long as they're available. Thanks campfire pistons!

    Good fire piston

    Lightweight and easy to use. Even with severe peripheral neuropothy I was able to successfully use this product. Speed is the key so it takes some practice to get your technique down pat. Once you get it you are good to go!
