      Why buy ground when you can freshly grind?

      I use a LOT of cardamom: it is my favorite spice, and only less costly (due to fiddly hand processing separating seed from capsule) than saffron.* I ran out of ground cardamom recently. I took the glass jar of seeds from the freezer, put some in the spice/coffee grinder, ran it, and when I opened it the scent was heavenly! If you grind coffee and spices, you might want to have separate grinding machines, as it can be difficult to thoroughly clean machinery by hand. I am never going back to pre-ground! If you are making masala chai, crushed pods or the seed are fine, as you’re going to strain the solids anyway. I keep my seeds in an old jam jar, in the freezer, for keeping it fresh. I have no car, so I buy from American sellers (I live in California) with a 99% or greater rating, to ...
