      I Love The Quiet

      I love how quiet this waste disposer is. My last one that had less horse power was very noisey. So far, so good with the grinding.

      Fixer upper

      The price was fair. The unit was advertised as an open box unit, but the unit was used and clearly it had been installed because of the food particles left inside the unit. The motor cover had unsecure and missing screws. The motor sound dampening insulation was improperly installed (folded in half). The port plug for the dishwasher drain hook up had been knocked out. The intake and discharge seals are in good shape, no leaks. The grinder housing had a bad water leak between the top and bottom halves at the O-ring. Found that the grinder ring was not properly seated towards the grinder plate causing the upper housing not to seal to the O-ring. Made all necessary repairs, works great.

      Easy to install. Reasonably quite. No vibration. Definitely a strong motor. One thing I like is the removable rubber drain insert: it's also on the thick side and gives me confidence it will last.
