If it were brand new it would have been in a bag without any scratches/streaks or cosmetic dings on the side. The keyboard works fine, it pairs via Bluetooth and the Touch ID sensor works, so it's good enough for my use case. There was a "QC" sticker on the back that was an absolute pain to remove. It wasn't in the photo and would rather it not have been present.
