    My hydro transaxle

    Before installing a used transaxle, make sure the disc brakes are not frozen. The pad is pushed by two round pins that can and often do get frozen with rust. If the mower sort of moves very slowly forward in neutral, try going from reverse to neutral and it will probably be dead still. I just accept a little little bit of forward movement when going from forward to neutral. It is too much hassle to perfectly adjust it. If you put on the brake at full speed and then let the brake out, you will take off like a bullet. When you put the brake on, put the gear lever back to neutral. Letting out the brake after stopping from full speed will cause the tractor to immediately go to full speed, severe jerk and tires lift off ground.
