I contacted the seller and told him the item was no longer useful because the shoes would arrive AFTER we left for the hiking trip for which they were intended. Instead of canceling the order, he shipped them anyway, not expediting the delivery in any fashion, and yes, they arrived after we had departed. When we returned, the shoes were waiting for me: they were acceptable in condition BUT NOT NEW.
