It was packaged very thoroughly to make sure it didn't get damaged in shipping, which I appreciate, however the inner layers of packing smelled like cigarette smoke. I don't know if the dish was obtained from a smoke home, or it was even used as an ashtray in a former life, but the smell was unexpected. It appears that the seller's measurement included the handles instead of the diameter of the of the casserole. Next time it might be good to show the picture of the measurement like other sellers do. The item was Well packaged and arrived safely in a timely fashion. I did find a 9 inch casserole from another seller that fit my lid. Now I just need to find an 8 inch lid.
