      This is a tool for a purpose.

      Don't rely on this, it will effect your sound with overuse. Not "use". Some use will not effect your sound. Reliance on it will effect your sound. This is a tool with a specific purpose. Being able to practicing at anytime, anywhere is better than limited practice, or no practice at all. This is an excuse killer. You'll still need plenty of open practice too, but this allows anyone to practice at any time of the night or early morning, and no wake up a person in the same room.

      Not a complete set.

      Beware, this is not a complete set! I was not expecting to get the mute and cord only. I was expecting the box to include the studio which is required for its use. I was quite disappointed, and had to pay $23 to return the item to Japan.

      Yamaha Silent Brass Updated Trumpet Mute

      Much more compact and lighter than original model, accomplishes same functions though. Much easier to store and travel with.
