We are a non smoking pet free home and I've had this since new so it must be the bag that created the odor. I always worry that a plush toy will get an odor in shipping because I know some carriers allow their workers to smoke along the delivery route so this is why I put it in the plastic bag. Its a compostable plastic bag so maybe it had the odor because of that.
