      Worked perfectly for my purpose as a straight 8P8C splitter.

      I would recommend to others for the same purpose: I used it to make a splitter for my Kenwood 281A radio mic and Kantronics KAM XL VHF packet connections. All I had to do is make a short cat 5 cable with RJ45 plugs on each end. Plug one end of that into radio mic connection and one end into center connector on splitter and you're in business. Just plug mic into one jack and kantronics tnc into other. You can now use the mic to talk on the radio or turn on the tnc, change channels on the radio, and use the packet on the tnc thru the radio. No switching mic and tnc cords. They stay plugged in all the time. Just change frequencies for phone or tnc.
