So far I have tested it inside as the directions suggest but have not installed it permanently outside yet. Inside it picks up TV signals very good by positioning correctly. I expect that it would do the same outside if the 360 degree motor functions properly. I just received the item yesterday & assembled it last night and did the inside test. So far I can affirm that it picks up available channels.

I have bought indoor slim antennas from Best Buy and $10 ones on ebay that claim long range, but this antenna and the range are not exaggerated and picks up all of my local channels. There are a few channels that have a weak signal, but i believe that it is due to where i have place the antenna and the orientation. I will be placing it on the roof for better positioning, but i was testing it out on a broom stick close to the ground and it is good.
