    Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP

I have been using Kiwi Mink Oil on my Wolverine boots for years. I recently took the plunge and bought myself a pair of Danner Explorer's & actually looked seriously into leather care. My Wolverines have held up for about 8 years now, so the Kiwi has obviously worked. However, I right away noticed how different these products are. The best way to explain the difference, is that the Obenauf's literally disappears into the leather, (not right away, the next day) and leaves things dry, soft, and smooth like skin. My Danner's were a little stiff out of the box. I aplied the LP and wore them round the house. They felt like gloves the second day. The LP soaks into the leather, whereas the Kiwi sort of sticks to the surface. I have used and abused my wolverines over the years, crawling under ...

  • Wonderful leather product

I've used it for ten years. Great leather preservative. If it does change your tan leather color, it will be toward a deep latigo brown. Melt it in with a heat gun or hair dryer if you can. Leaves a light, natural scent and preserves for years. A fantastic product I will continue to use.

  • Fantastic!

Best stuff I have ever used. Goes on with a brush (for crevices) or hand. I used on my Wolverine nubuck Wellingtons with great results. Two coats at first. It is absorbed by the leather - a process further aided with a blow dryer. Mild, pleasing, natural scent during application. No doubt from the beeswax base. Does not appear to have any awful petroleum content. It will darken the leather. However, that is not an issue if used on practical working boots.

  • Great stuff

The product works great, water proofs your boots and keeps them lubricated. Take your time and work the stuff in with your fingers. Was on a fire the other day , kept my feet dry and just hosed off my boots after finishing mop up, looked good afterward. Good product, fair price and will purchase again when needed. Thanks

  • This stuff is magical!

This was recommended to me by a friend whose buffalo hide motorcycle chaps are as soft and flexible as silk fabric. He said he does an update cleaning every year when he puts them away for the winter. I have several leather items of clothing that were relatively stiff that I coated liberally because they'd never been done before and hung up to dry overnight and the results the next day were stunning! My chaps may need one more application for maximum effect, my pants and trench coat are just fine!
