I might try sanding down the plastic to see if it fits better.

Comes with an instructional video, and this replacement part is made to be EASIER to install than Sony's OEM sliding part, which apparently requires soldering. Just the included tool set and that's it. Also, they're built to last longer than the OEM sliding part. Terrific! Great buy indeed

Once I asked, Apple replied with about US$ 300 of price, which is simply irrational. Anyhow, seller was extremely kind and responsive. It fits perfectly to my 4-year-old AirPods Max.
