      Woodland Scenics Roadbed Roll

      This is easier to use than cork and can be put down the same way. However, I Made my track loop first and then put the roadbed down. I didn't cut it along the middle for the curves as I should have and it bunched up a bit on the inside of the curves. If I'd done things right this would not have been a problem. I find it a bit harder to fit around switches because it is so flexible that it's hard to cut. Cork doesn't stretch. On the other hand, it's possible to slip in extra pieces and fill holes easily. It looks OK once the track is on it but it would look better with ballast on top of it. The only real drawback I have found with this is that is so compressible that you can break off ties when you tack your track down using small nails through the holes in the ties. You just ...

      Very pleased with the results

      The is track-bed is not only easy to use, but it also is helpful with controlling any noise being transferred to the table beneath the track. It is also more flexible than cork that I have used on earlier layouts.
