    Audiophile Dream Gear

    Great deal, the argument about these against the x4 priced Sennheiser HD800s is still raging on HeadFi. The sound is very well balanced, the comment on lack of bass by some reflects AKGs philosophy as a microphone and movie equipment manufacturer, meaning a good balance of all three tonal ranges. The open ear design, suspension, and large soft muffs create a great experience. Paired with my android UAPP iFi-xDSD they sound amazing. Proud owner of four of these, all second hand.

    Great sound, super value

    Okay, yes, these AKGs weren’t made in Austria, but they didn’t cost $500, either. They’re comfortable, lightweight, and their sound stage has to be heard to be believed. My only complaint: their cord is l-o-n-g, so you might want to order a shorter one, if 3 meters is longer than what you’d like.

    When you need surgery on your midrange

    Surgical sound. You need these headphones for surgical sound editing in the midrange of your tracks. The bass is totally lack luster.. but if you buy the Sonarworks Reference 4 software for $100 your AKG's will sound super full and lush.. the low end comes alive when using that mixing software.

    I'm using these as my cans and they are detailed and comfortable to use- Already detected distortion that I could hear in my hs5's or focal alphas-which are both great, but I think these are filling in some gaps from a monitoring perspective-obviously great for getting stereo balance

    K702 Headphones

    I bought a pair 2 years ago. I blew the voice coils out from extensive use. I'll have that pair re-coned. These phone are AMAZING. I record professionally so I require only the best products I can find. So, at the price these were being offered at, it was a no brainer for me to purchase another pair! Delivery was super fast. I like that! I mean "padda bing padda boom" the headphones arrived just a few days (2) after the purchase!
