    Almost got it right.

    Shinwa is a Japanese company that make many rulers and marking out tools for woodworking. These are high quality tools made to the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS). The small 150mm ruler that is included with the ruler stop is nicely satin finished but its markings include one edge with 0.5mm increments. I have after a lot of searching found a 150mm shinwa rule with a satin chrome finish that also has 1.0mm increments on BOTH EDGES of the rule. This makes this rule a joy to use particularly when it is combined with the excellent ruler stop.. Very few people have the visual acuity to read and use 0.5mm increments. I do not know if these 0.5mm markings are a hang over from another industrial time, but they should wake up and start giving people the option of 1.0mm increments on all lengths ...

    Shinwa 150 ruler with stopper

    Have orderd a shinwa before. BUT this type was a bit sharp on edges. Hade to use watersandpaper to smooth the edges. After that I am very satisfied
