        Swamp water made drinkable.

        I used this product to drink directly from St. Johns river in Florida.(Brown water, very High in Tanic Acid. known to contain Amoeba's.) No boiling required. This is a great tool in a pinch for the necessary hydration until you can make your way to a better water source. Everyone needs several in their hunting, camp,bug out bag, boat etc..On a scale of 1 to 10 I rate it a 12.

        Quality and Price of survival water straw

        Overall, it's ok. The straw itself however does not look like it will last. (I will replace it with a much better one myself). They could have used a better material for the straw. When using this the first time, your water will look like coffee, due to the carbon dust (normal). It takes about 5 cups of water draw to get fairly clear water, so you may want to use it now and draw a few cups, before putting it into your survival bag or car....and have it ready for use, when you need it. The whole construction of this is just 'ok', thinking of 'other' companies offering similar, with a much better construction to be used on a bottle, with a closing tip etc. So overall; it's ok. It works and that is what counts. PRICE: Considering all of the above....I'd just spend $2-3 more Dollars and buy ...

        Fantastic

        Tested this with water that was in a plastic bucket for six months. Water tasted just like the bucket. Then I tested the water again after a good gargle with Listerine but this time using the Frontier Straw and I swear to you that I could not tell the difference from my delicious tap water. It really works. Hope to never have to use it but it may just save my life some day.

        A survival must!

        I am an avid sportsman and enjoy camping and hiking. I carry one of these everywhere I go. I live in Texas and good drinking water can be hard to find. Its comforting to know that I can drink from a mud puddle or stream and not have to worry about getting sick. I also carry it when I go South of the Border.
