      Easy System Addition

      This smoke detector was a perfect addition to my Ademco Vista 20 alarm panel. Programming was easy, just follow your manual for adding another wireless zone. Two things to note: I defeated the little plastic stop that drops into the notch when you twist the unit onto its base. This will make it easier to remove the overhead unit for a battery change or cleaning. Also make sure you put your monitoring service into test mode when you dismount the unit for any reason. Because it is a fire alarm, it will instantly trigger when the tamper switch gets thrown because you removed the unit.

      Good wireless detectors

      These are photo ion detectors (no radio active elements in them) and also have a heat sensor. The batteries last up to 5 years. I have simply removed the old detectors and installed these in their place simply tucking the wiring under them into the ceiling box. This is a commercial grade detector. It can be remotely reset to ensure there are fewer false alarms. If they go off the second time, then the alarm system should notify based on your settings.

      Excellent Sensor

      My alarm monitoring tech replaced my panel with a Visita 21P today. Ordered four of these smoke/heat sensors. Powered the 5808W3's up and system detected them right away. All four faulted the system when tested using the test button. Appear to work exactly as desired.

      Smoke & Heat Detectors

      These smoke detectors worked well. They were sold as used, but they looked really good and were very clean. Even shipped in the original boxes and were very easy to program into the control panel.

      Great way to add smoke detectors to a Honeywell/Ademco alarm

      With proper knowledge it's easy to program a Honeywell Vista panel with a wireless receiver/transmitter. I coupled it to my Vista 20p through a 6160RF keypad as the receiver.
