    Top end amateur HDTV Camcorder using Mini HDV Tapes.

    High Definition HDTV Camcorder. Top end amateur camcorder when it was launched producing results close in quality to Professional Camcorders costing twice or four times as much. It is relatively robust. My first unit has worked perfectly for 14 years before developing a fault which can be repaired. Easy to use, though with many additional features and functions for more demanding conditions or imaginative filming. Reasonably compact and light weight though not as compact as later high end amateur camcorders. It was one of the last HD Camcorders using Mini HDV Tapes. This has several advantages as well as some disadvantages. Magnetic tape is relatively stable and easy to manage.
