    The item is brand new but arrived broken, the crank handle was broken at the spindle where it screws onto to the geared shaft the holds the apple. Not sure how this happened during shipping, the packaging was in good shape when it arrive. it could have maybe moved inside the original packing box. The item is as descibed brand new open box as described. The price was excellent other then the item arriving broken. Given my work schedule, it not cost effective for me to take off to return.
