    Super braking on my bike!

    Have SLR brakes on my Jamis Quest Elite. The bike had standard blocks rather than separate pads and holders. They were also 50mm rather than 55mm as these are. I was going to spend a lot more money on Swiss Stops, but since I am in So Cal, and I never ride in the (rare if ever) rain anyway, I tried the dry-compound OEM units. What a difference! If I was in a rainy part of the world perhaps I would have tried the OEM holders with the older 53 compound (x700 series) vs the 54 dry compound (x800 series). But for my local these were a GREAT improvement! The calipers are SH 451 SLR and the pads are smooth, lineal, and well modulated.
