    Good old school cantilever brake.

    True, this is clearly not a top of the line cantilever brake, but, if you set it up correctly it does the job. If new to installing this type of brake (yes, it is very old school!!) Park Tool has an excellent video showing how. Also, I have found that ditching the Shimano pads that come with it and replacing them with Kool Stops improves the stopping power. The OEM pads just seem to be way too hard.
