On the Mazda CX5 , you must cut a small opening in the aluminum weather guard that spans front to back in order to install the post that anchors the crossbar to the vehicle. The base of this product completely covers the hole, so cosmetically, it’s not an issue. Just be prepared to do this if you plan to install.
