I like to solder the ends of the wire and put them through this type of binding post. I find this type preferable for easy connect and disconnect. There are two sides to this product. One hole is fully aligned and the back side has a small offset. The intent is to insert the wires into the aligned hole and the offset in the back helps hold them.
