      A lock in time saves nine

      Just put a full-sized spare and wheel combo on my 2010 Ranger XL in lieu of the 60 psi temporary spare (had 13 psi in it when I checked it!), and $25 worth of protection to keep someone from cranking it down to steal this $200 worth of spare is a bargain. There are 25 different keys made by Ford for this lock, and a thief would literally have to carry all 25 around to defeat this lock. Cutting the cable the wheel hangs by is another approach for thieves, so I am putting a 6 foot/ 10 mm cable thru the spare hooked to the rear framing with a weatherproof lock also on the spare for another $20. May take me a while to change the tire in the rain on the highway with this, but don't like spending money twice in the hundreds either.
