As someone who can remember mailing a post card for 1-cent and a letter for 3-cents, I would think the USPS could do a better job than it does. Perhaps privatizing the postal service is the answer. Five years ago I could mail a pass with tracking for $1.99; now it is $4.36. Frustrating.

UPS gets it to the destination city and then hands it back to USPS to deliver. Isn't our government great!! And USPS and UPS do not always share tracking numbers.
