    Direct Replacement for Monogram

    This product was great. It is a direct replacement for Monogram compactor Part # WC36X5071 at one third the price. Whirlpool manufactures most compactors regardless of the name on the front!! A great buy!! P.S. Tip: Find a U-Tube video to help you with the installation.

    I honestly believe if company's would make their parts from good old metal, there would be no need to replace these plastic parts. Since they only make this in plastic, this works as good as I can get.

    OEM part is exact match

    While metal gearing would last longer, the plastic drive gear tends to shear off, break, or melt, thereby preventing motor burnout. Ensure that you properly adjust the gear spacing, especially if you have replaced the motor or loosened it for any reason. Compactor is now more quiet than it's been for decades.

    Whirlpool trash compactor repair

    OEM made this gear out of plastic for some unknown reason. While not ideal, it held up for several years worth of use. Make it out of metal and you probably never have to replace it, but we all know that's gonna affect the bottom line. But as a direct replacement, this gear not only fits well, but is made of comparable material and strength. 1 month into the repair and all is well!
