      I LOVE my Pavoni

      The La Pavoni Europiccola is not for those who want quick espresso. But it's great for someone who wants to know the ins and outs of espresso maker and is willing to take responsibility for learning. Well made and well designed. If you buy used, make sure you inquire about how often the unit was cleaned and the shape of the base under the catch tray. I LOVE my Pavoni.

      abysmal quality mars and otherwise cool machine

      It came in terrible shape. so much scale buildup and just poor packaging. part of the machine was sticking out of the box when it arrived. I have been flushing the machine for almost 2 weeks and there are still specks of black material coming out of the group head and steam wand

      Overall, everything was good but it was poorly packaged with consideration to its sensitive properties. The boiler was against cardboard without padding and could have easily gotten punctured with the wrong throw of the box by a careless employee. I’m tearing it down to rebuild so I’m not concerned with scratches that may have developed, or bent steam wands considering the shaft sits on that boiler surface but either way, more consideration should be given when packaging such items

      Perfect machine...

      This is a well built machine. I like the design; it allows for a lot of control in pulling shots. More labor intensive, it's a tradeoff. I worked as a barista for 4+ years. I can get excellent shots and micro foam. I did update the steam want nozzle to a single hole and added a pressure gauge. Both were very easy to do.

      Great once you get used to it.

      I bought this used. There was quite a bit of rust in the drip tray, even though I kept a cup under the portafilter. Turns out it was the steamer wand. Once I tightened that valve down (I do straight shots) there was no more drip. I feel bad giving it a "no" on "easy to use" "easy to clean" and "brews quickly" but lets be honest---it's not an automatic, self-cleaning machine. I use it with ESE pods and it works very well.
