    I should have installed one of these systems years ago!!!

    I installed the Aprilaire 600 a few days ago and it has kept my humidity levels between 40-45% throughout the house. I was using several portable humidifiers, but those were only effective in the rooms they were placed and required a lot of maintenance (refilling tanks, some required replacement filters every few weeks, and regular cleaning). Now, I only have to replace the water panel once per year in the Aprilaire unit, and then turn it on/off each heating season. The installation is not simple, but it is doable for those DIYers who are comfortable with plumbing and electrical wiring. For me, cutting out the ductwork was the hardest part, but only because my system is in a tight space and I was using snips. My advice, wear gloves (or have band aides handy) and take your time.     Nice unit, but I wish it didn't waste so much water

    I like the unit, it seems well designed and easy to maintain, but a majority of the water goes down the drain. Apparently that is a common issue with whole house humidifiers. Because of this I am not using it much.

    Good buy

    Nice By pass unit. Fairly easy to install if you have some decent mechanical skills. We get some pretty cold winters here in upstate NY, and the furnace is on a lot. I can't seem to get the humidity level past 35% even with the "blower option" on. After knowing this I would have opted for the model with the fan that blows directly into the plenum, rather than the by pass unit. Still a decent unit that is certainly better than nothing

    Received quickly. Excellent seller. Replaced a old Aprilaire 550 and got a larger unit since the house was added onto over the years. Easy enough to install myself, just had to enlarge air inlet and run new copper to hot water. The instructions say they won't cover warranty for diy's which I think is total bs. This is some plastic parts, a water panel and 24v solenoid for less than 200 dollars, not a 40 ton rooftop unit. Other thing is, if you want to run it with a smart stat like an Ecobee I bought, you don't need to get the digital. The manual would be fine and would save some money. I got the digital in case I didn't like how it ran with the thermostat. I just ran the common to the thermostat and the solenoid and used the switching acc+, not acc- from the thermostat to the negative on ...

    Breathing easy again

    Our 1950 square-foot home was down to 21 percent humidity here in Michigan. Static Sparks flying everywhere! Had 2 room humidifiers that couldn't get humidity past 23 percent. Purchased Aprilaire 600. Easy to follow installation instructions. Next morning house was 28 and settled in at 31 percent next day. Great product!
