    Much better than metal

    I love these! They fit on different size pie plates. The silicone is light weight and doesn't make your pie crust crumble. Along with preventing spill-over, they keep the crust from getting too brown. If you bake pies, you need these.

    Not a great fit

    If you have a "9 inch" pie dish like I do you will find that including the rim of the pie dish, the overall diameter is 10". The silicone crust protector is also 10" in overall diameter and it BARELY fits over the pie dish-without a crust on it. When you put a crust on it, you have to make sure the crust doesn't go beyond the outer rim of the pie dish or the crust protector won't fit very well. They should have made it 10.5" to have a little "wiggle" room and not so tight over the edge of your 9" pie dish. I also think the top width of the crust protector should be just a little narrower than it is now. If your pie is mounded, it cuts into the crust a bit and also doesn't brown well underneath, although the outer crust itself browned fine. I love that this product is silicone. You don't ...

    Pies need this shield

    These shields are much easier to use than my previous method of cutting strips of foil and placing them on the pie crusts prior to baking. I bought some for myself and gave some to a friend who bakes wonderful pies but had been using foil as I did to prevent overly dark crusts on pies.

    great item

    My first attempt at using mine they would not fit my 10" pie then I realized the rim on that pie plate was wider than normal. It fits my other 10" plates. I purchased six so lets hope they work on the other pies.
