    replacing 10yr old wrt110

the Linksys EA7300 AC1750 Max-Stream MU-MIMO Wifi Router (Certified Refurbished) looked in good shape out of the box. easy config and install. been using it for a week with improved speeds. the old linksy really was impessive in its dependability and durability with good speed for 10 yr old, single band, budget router. so far happy with the new one, next will be adding external storage drive thru usb port on router. good refurb price of i think $50. so far so good.

External Hard drive is not working

I am trying to use this router with external drive as file server, but it seem to be not working. After contact with Linksys technical support, they ask me to buy new one not refurbish. With the new purchase, same problem. When accessing external drive using FileServer or Media server, all the files can not be seen. Only directories are visible. When connecting to USB30 Passport, the Router got reset and won't boot. It look like this design coudn't provide enough current for the USB30 passport. This product work when connect to external HUB that supply 0.9A @ 5V I don't recommend this router with File Server to any one.

  • Great consumer router and price these days

All you need for most of the people out there. It's got good speed, range, and stability. Setup and leave it for the majority. For the techies, depending on what you're looking for in a router, it can work too. Has the standard port forwarding, static/reserve IPs, DNS configuration, external access, blah blah. It's not super packed with options but should be fine, say, for my parents. The only issue I have is that if you manage from a phone, they force you to use their store app. I would rather access the full web interface via the browser. Similarly, they prefer you to access from outside the network using their Linksys account. It's free and easy but some people might not want to be dependent on outside servers for that. Very consumer oriented I suppose.

  • Great value for a solid piece of electronics.

I had a single band older router that was dropping off consistently and buffering when trying to stream tv. At the same time my daughter was always complaining that she was losing her internet signal too. I thought it was my cable hi speed internet at first but come to find out it was my router. This dual band router works excellent. It is able to handle multiple devices at one time with ease. I’m pretty impressed with it.

  • Wonderful router

This is really a good bargain at the low end of the prices for routers. It was easy to set up and has improved the speed of my satellite Internet. I would recommend it to everyone.
