The base is supposed to be designed for their umbrella, but there is no way to secure the base to the umbrella, it just sort of lays along the sides of the umbrella stand. It isn't very snug fitting because the caps protrude and prevent the base from fitting snug to the stand. so I am not sure how stable it will be if it gets windy.
