    Rock & Angie

    The book of the same name came out more than 40 years ago. The movie captures most of the book's key elements. It is a slick production, oddly sardonic of 1970s High School. There is a bizarre and casual tone throughout, which runs counter to the horrific events taking place in the school.  Rock Hudson plays a charismatic high school football coach whom everyone idolizes. He uses his cheerful charisma to seduce as many of the sexy teenage girls in the school as possible. All the while he keeps score of each girls' sexual abilities. As if this wasn't twisted enough, "Tiger," Hudson's character, also proves to be a sociopathic murderer. Angie Dickinson plays a sexy teacher who is the lust object of Tiger's student protege.     This movie was produced and directed by Gene Roddenberry. I was surprised. Move had nude scenes and James Doohen (Scotty) from Star Trek was in the movie as well. Has a great cast.. Rock Hudson, Angie Dickerson and Roddy McDowell

    Simple Murder-Mystery from old

    Interesting choice for Rock Hudson to play, given his background in Romantic Comedies with lots of major stars and in well-regarded TV shows. Interesting to see him, Telly Sevalis, and Angie Dickenson together. I saw this when I was a teenager and just had to see it again one day. Even the Osmonds have a hit song in this movie---also a reversal of the expected.

    Unusual movie. Rock Hudson as the protagonist - a "man's man". Interesting type-casting here. Several stars of that era, directed by Roger Vadim. Somewhat dated by today's standards but still worth a look.
