      Quality Product

      I purchased two of these, and will purchase a few more since I live in Greece and have 110V items I like to use. I checked it with a volt meter and the unit converts correctly. It's automatic so no need to worry about hitting the right switch. It runs warm, but not hot. So far I'm very pleased with it, and it's a good buy.

      Cheap, convenient, safe to use with both step up and step down functions.

      Bought this to test 220V equipment. I had used a non-protected 50 watt 110V to 220V converter to test an18 watt LED light. Either because it was defective or had a sufficiently low power factor the 50 watt converter burnt out. I did not want a repeat experience and figured that with a thermal breaker and a 500 watt rating I could safely test equipment rated up to 200 watts, not think about replacing fuses, not be concerned about defective loads, low power factors and surge currents. Although it is heavy for travel, it will work as both a step down and step up converter. I do not have to think about manually switching between up and down conversion. The only down sides are that the switch defaults to 220V input, takes about a second to switch and uses about 5 watts.

      The hair clipper bought in the United States was included in the Voltage Power Converter which included 220 volts into the network. hair clipper does not work. in vain spent money.

      Broken and Crappy

      I received my transformer with the casing cracked in 3 places and it very quickly heats up to the point of needing to unplug it for safety reasons. It is an overpriced piece of chinese garbage!
