    Had the Cascade 400 for my 29 gallon turtle tank. It did a pretty good job keeping the water pretty clean at least for a few days after a water change but I felt it was too small for a big turtle so I needed to make an upgrade. So I purchased the Cascade 600 and I have had it for 4 days and the water never seems to be clear. It seems to have plenty of power but I just expected the water to be cleaner. I replaced the carbon with my own superior carbon and it didn't seem to matter. Disappointed.

    Good!

    I have been using the Cascade submersible filter systems for years now and won’t use anything else. After the initial purchase you never have to buy additional filter cartridges or new parts. You can use your own filter media and set it up just the way you want it. I would highly recommend!

    The filters are worth the money

    I have two of these filters. One filter is in a 20 gallon tank and the other is in a 30 gallon tank. Both move plenty of water and the water flow is adjustable to some degree. They are quiet as well. They do no fit very well in a 10 gallon tank because they are quite tall.

    I do not like its inability to have the water force lowered enough.

    If the outflow is placed below the water level, the force cannot be lowered to the point where the entire filter pivots on its suction cups, turning it to a position that is not desired. It does not stay where it is placed. When the outflow is suspended above the water level, the force of the water is annoyingly loud and causes too much turbulence.
