The only problem is the 17 degree setting is not able to be used as the blade holder gets in the way for smaller blades that to not stick out of the holder such as a pocket knife, maybe a butchers knife of cleaver it may work as the stone will not be close to the blade holder. It is easy to use so that is a plus.

The finest grit whetstone is more like hard chalk than stone. The name-brand Lansky is superior. I suggest looking at the name brand product again. I have used both and Lansky is clearly made of better components.
