    Issues with power switch

    After a year of weekly use, I have issues with the power switch. The vacuum cleaner doesn't want to turn on with a simple press of the power button. Sometimes I have to press the button several times in different positions for the vacuum to turn on. Once it's off, I can't turn it back on right away. This is my second Oreck Magnesium vacuum and I'm not sure what the issue is with the unit. The seller advised the product as brand new, but now I'm beginning to wonder if my unit was refurbished. Taking my vacuum to an Oreck repair store this week for diagnosis of the issue. Hopefully it will be cost effective to repair.

    Oreck overused vacuum

    Not sure how but this vacuum was physically way scuffed up. Lifted plastic by bag holder up to put bag in and plastic piece broke off. Could have at least provided one bag. You have to step on bottom of vacuum to pull handle down to use vacuum. Bought this for my elderly Mom! To me kinda high cost for the abuse vacuum!

    Very nice vacuum

    Light weight. Plenty of power. Rolls very easy, smoothly, easier than our older Oreck XL21. Bags are not any harder to change than emptying the cyclone traps on the newer vacuums. No dust at all while running and less dust changing the bag than emptying a cyclone trap on other vacuums. I really like the remote control power button built into the upper handle of this LW1500 RS. I guess the RS stands for Remote Switch. Everything is quality and well thought out.

    Light weight with great features , works well on very dense carpets.

    Nice light weight vacuum. We had just installed some super plush very dense carpeting in our whole house. My central vac & none of my other 2 standard upright vacuums would work. They just stuck in place with suction , down to the carpet and couldn't be moved. After reading some reviews we picked this for a replacement as it has very big wheels , is light in weight and has two levels of power. It works absolutely wonderful and has replaceable filter bags that make emptying in a clean chore. We love it. This is great for the new style very dense carpets.

    Much better than the new Oreck Elevate Conquer.

    I bought a new Elevate Conquer, thinking I would replace our older Magnesium. The Elevate Conquer is a huge step backward (IMO). The Magnesium works well and pushes easily on our carpets. It vacuums our fairly stiff throw rugs on low with no problems. It will fit under the fronts of our cabinets so I can vacuum up to the kick plates. It will lay flat and vacuum the carpet under our beds. The swivel turns easily and last but not least, the bracket for the power cord swivels so the wrapped up power cord pulls off quickly for use. The new Elevate Conquer does NONE of that. So, I'm going to put a garbage bag over it and stick it in the attic and I'm here buying a rebuilt Magesium.
