      OK but too expensive

      Over the years Yakima has deteriorated. I once enthusiastically and almost blindly endorsed use of their products. However, although these, like a good portion of their equipment, do the job, the lack of forward and backward compatibility, especially the killing off of Whispbar forcing use of these, leaves customers holding the bag on many hundreds of dollars of stuff every time vehicles are switched. The astonishing expenses are why I rate these as not being good value.

      A good fit

      These universal q towers do an excellent job holding on. They don't move once tightened down correctly and it's pretty easy to do so. Additionally, they are built rock solid which adds to their good looks and durability. Overall, I highly recommend them.

      2 yakima Q tower non-functional

      The two yakima Q towers came probably from a junk yard disassembled without any care for potential re-use. The lock plugs were missing and more importantly I could not assemble them at fixed position on the bar. The advertising photo was misleading.
