I sharpened them before installing them and the metal appears to be of good quality. Much of this evaluation is from one time use so I cannot say much more about them than I have. The only problem is these come with the generic mounting cut out and not S cut out and tend to vibrate out of position occasionally. Therefore, you have to reposition and tighten ever so often. The upside, is these blades are about 1/3 of the cost of the s design.
