    Good Household Humidifier

    I would rate this at five stars but I think it is too expensive. It is a very simple design with two wicking filters. Just handling it, it feels flimsy. But it doesn’t matter, once you set it up on the floor or a counter and add the water it does it’s thing. I brought my house from 35% to 50% in about a day. I like to leave it on medium as it does a fairly good job with not much sound. Except for the first night, the gurgling of the jugs kept me awake. I love the design of the jugs, and once you learn that you set them on the floor and tilt them in, it’s so easy. But, these big jugs take big gulps of air. To remedy that, I cut strips of sponge and inserted in the inlets. Water and air can still flow through but now sound filtered. The sponge needs to slip in easy, if it’s too tight, water ...

    They don't fit the Evap40 well

    I found that other reviewers had been correct. These do not fully cover the openings of the Evap40. Also, they were shipped in a bad so the corners were a little mashed. I tried stretching them when wet but I I overdid it and then they buckled in the mounting space. They did seem to readily wick water, but for these other reasons I threw them away.

    Does everything it claims!

    Have not had the heat on much so far this year since we are having a nice fall, but so far it my humidistat in the room goes up when I'm using it. Its also VERY quiet. Some people mentioned the gurgle sound when the bottom of the tank fills a bit, but its not annoying at all. It happens so seldom and you would have to be really sensitive for it to be a problem considering the benefits the Vornado provides. I've had many humidifiers and spent hours researching this purchase since I'm always so disappointed for one reason or another in the others I've tried. Its a great value, VERY easy to clean and fill and works great so far!

    very quiet, easy to use apartment humidifier

    Finally my apartment has some humidity in it. I live in colorado and my apartment can drop to 25% humidity with heat on. This humidifier is whisper quiet on low mode, and can raise and hold the humidity to/at 45% easy (@500-600 square feet). On low the 2 tanks last for days (depending on need). Tanks are easy to fill. Unit seems well designed. I have only had it for a few weeks, so we will see how long it lasts; but based on it's performance and design- i am not concerned. I will update if any information radically changes.

    Good Solution For Large Area Humidification

    Simple and easy to set up. Built with two 2-gallon reservoirs so you don’t need to be filling the unit so often. 3-speed fan (slightly noisy on high) allows for quick or slow and steady humidification. We ran it on high for the first few days and it took our humidity level from 18% to 40% (measured in an adjoining room). Have been operating on medium speed now to maintain desired humidity. Set the humidistat switch where you like it and it’s automatic from there. Depending on your water quality, you will need to clean or replace the wicks/filters a couple of times a season, but that is true with all evaporative humidifiers. At $120 +/- it is a good value and super easy to use.
