The sticks were very dried out and old looking, once I got into them.( poor appearance!) so I soaked them again. No sandalwood at all, but they are citrusy, kind of. They seem to work quite well now, neither in good condition, they seemed and looked. old and dried out, not apurchase that I would do again, nor good value for money.
