    Top shelf design by Sony

    In My estimation, these 601 CD machines are the top of the line which Sony made before they shut the door on the manufacture of all the 100s of the machine models they made. I wish Sony wold bring them back! These 601s are very difficult to find in good cosmetic and working condition! Last of the manufacture was around 2002. This 601 is a very solid unit which is very well designed with every one of the many functions working in superb fashion. I enjoy the radio function as a nice backup to the CD function and the radio reception and sound is just spectacular with the bass boost.. The FM is just super. Usually the AM stations are weak; but, not in this 601. Its works so well that its not possible to name all the great things this machine does. A perfect design and worth every ...

    One of the Best Portable CD Players Out There

    This Sony Walkman CD player is heavy duty, great sound, variety of features-retailed for over 200 bucks back in the day(I had one then). Everybody knows that cds sound better than the compressed mp3s, right, so thus unit is highly recommended...by me! Water resistent, sturdy plastic(can drop it and wont fly apart). Bass boost. Go "retro", get it!

    Great Value

    This excellent CD/radio player has many outstanding features, including good sound for both radio and CD, utility features for selecting radio frequencies, and very sturdy construction. The one downside is the tendency of the plastic lid to develop small hairline cracks, perhaps due to inconsistent layering of the plastic material. This downside does not, however, seem to affect the longevity of the product quality.

    Stop. Your search for the perfect CD player is over. This portable player is an absolute tank. It never skips, and the sound quality is pristine with a very good bass boost feature. The one I currently use is 20 years old and still kicking strong. A true beast of a CD player. Obviously highly recommended.
