      Works as advertised, easy install

      Installed on working Rheem 4 ton central air unit, dropped starting amperage draws dramatically. Home lights quit dimming on compressor start (as they have since unit was installed years ago), unit starts much quieter. Easy 20 minute install, even taking time to do optional before/after clamp meter amp draw readings. Plenty of room in unit to do simple mount of the kit parts, extra lugs already there for the kit's three wires and marked, clear instructions. Our home also has transfer switch system for emergency generator power during outages, I'm betting this kit will give our emergency generator a sigh of relief on those A/C starts too. Highly recommend, intend to install on any future units, these things should come factory installed.

      smooth start and energy saver

      Installed one of these before I saw them here on ebay. Ordered these for my new dual air condo units. Instructions are easy to follow and helps that the existing capacitor on the unit is also labeled right. Hoping to save energy and at the very least, let my compressor last longer. I fully recommend these soft start units to at least prolong the life of the air conditioning unit.

      Great update for an AC compressor

      Installed the 5-2-1 compressor saver this morning. Could not be more simple. Dare to say that anyone could do it. Before installing 5-2-1, the starting current was around 80 amps. After install it is now about 40 amps. This will be very good for the compressor and contactor as well. No more dimming lights when the AC comes on. If you don't have a start kit on your AC, this would be a great update for about $40 that will probably pay for itself in the first year or two.

      a device that will save you money on your AC electric bill and helps make the compressor last longer

      This item replaces one I was using but that the capacitor had failed on. A great device to extend the life of the compressor on your AC. I have used this brand on all my ACs and on every AC I install. It gives the compressor that extra kick when starting on those hot days when the line voltage running low and keeps the starting current in check, big help!

      This thing actually works

      Not only was this the best price I could find from this source. The manufacturer did a great job at helping me be sure I hooked this unit correctly. The manufacturer currently has a similar unit for refrigerators being UL tested. I told them to put me on their list for their first ones. I wish I would have known about this unit 10 years ago when my 3.5 ton Carrier A/C was brand new. My guess is that this will make my run capacitor live longer too.
