      Great product!

      I love that it has 2 cables which really cleans up to cords a lot! it can power both the nes and snes at the same time if you wanted to, it also get rid of having too many of those clunky power bricks on the power strip its also lightweight which helps it stay in place, I haven't found any problems with it so there isn't any risks to buying it!

      The AC adapter isn't good

      I bought this so I could power my 32X without relying on a old, hot power brick. However, I ended up pulling the power brick out of the attic and using it again. The cable fit loosely into the 32x, and was around 2.5 feet long, meaning that I needed an extension cord for the cable to reach the wall. The adapter also causes tons of interference, and uses 9 volts instead of 10 like the genuine Sega power adapter. Not recommended.

      Correct adapter working as intended

      So, I had to order myself a new power supply AC adapter for my Model 2 Genesis MK-2103 as the one original one I had this very loud humming sound when it was connected to the Genesis on, on top of the white lines going down the screen each time. Drove me nuts. Bought an off-brand adapter, and that when plugged into a power outlet made this high-pitched sound, as if it was charging up, and would only go away once the Genesis was turned on. That was a bit of a concern so I stopped using it. I read a few guides saying it's best to have the original brand adapter that's intended for the Model 2 as faulty and off-brand adapters can fry the console overtime. Upon plugging this adapter in, I no longer saw those white lines or the loud humming sounds. Product is a legit Sega-brand adapter.

      A definite replacement for the Sega 2 or 3 power cord.

      You will notice that this adapter is significantly lighter in weight than the original Sega adapter, which is a definite plus considering the Sega adapter feeling like a literal brick tugging on the wires, and a big contributor to why the exterior wire cover was tearing away and exposing the wires underneath. This adapter provides constant power without the fear of intermittent power loss that was experienced with the original power cord. Furthermore, when paired with the upgraded audio/visual cable, the picture quality improves! Clearly there was electronic interference from the original power cable, however, my genesis system is in need of some refreshing to address some minor picture quality issues, but it is a heck of a lot better now and bearable to play!

      You're better off sourcing original parts.

      The controllers are of poor quality with the D-pad falling off with even light use. They are also very small but feel decent enough in the hand. The power adaptor is the cheapest thing ever and doesn't seem to give the Genesis quite enough power. Any time I pause a game it ends up freezing. The a/v cable works fine. Overall I do not recommend this kit at all but it will do until I can source some OEM parts.
