    Essential Tool for the DYI Bike Mechanic

    I went years trying to use regular cutting tools and crimpers before finally deciding it was time to bite the bullet and buy this tool. Was absolutely amazed at how easy it makes the job! I should have bought this years ago. A clean housing cut is absolutely essential for allowing the cable to move freely within the housing without binding to shift properly. This tool cuts the housing and the cable like a hot knife through butter and has a nice crimper to crimp the end cap onto the cut-end of the cable. If you're on the fence considering this tool, buy it as I don't think you'll be disappointed.

    Pros - Heavy duty, cuts cable and housing cleanly and has a built in crimper Cons - expensive for a regular DIYer like me. Overall - I recommend this product to bicycle DIYers since its easy to use and this tool looks and feels that it will last a lifetime.

    Park tool is the snap on of bike tools.

    All of Park Tools items are made to a very high standard and perform exceptionally well. Some items are a bit pricey for what they are, and you can certainly find cheaper alternatives that will work just as well. However, donโ€™t cheap out on your cable cutter/crimper. The Park Tool CN-10 makes sharp, clean cuts through stainless steel effortlessly. Worth every penny. As a professional auto mechanic and hobbyist bike mech, I pick and choose what bike tools I should spend money on, and Park Tool makes the cut for this one.

    Far better than anticipated

    This lightweight tool cuts housings w/ relatively little effort and leaves a cut edge requiring minimal smoothing. I've used rotary tools many times but w/ this tool now in my bike tool box, this will be my go to cable housing tool. It's just too quick and easy to want to use anything else.
